BAZ News Network strongly condemns the continued detention of its journalistic staff by the SDF Autonomous Administration, including human rights journalist, writer and poet Marwan Majeed Sheikh Issa, a week ago.<\/p>\n

Reportedly, special forces raided Sheikh Issa’s home in Al-Hasakah on September 1, 2023, and took him to an unknown destination.<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n
The network also condemns the continued detention of its journalistic staff by the SDF Autonomous Administration since August 27, 2023, the closure of the network\u2019s office in Hasakah, and the confiscation of press equipment.<\/p>\n

The network confirms that all journalists arrested by the SDF Autonomous Administration are registered with its media, and that the network\u2019s office has been licensed for three years.<\/p>\n

The network calls on the Civil and Military Self-Administration to immediately release all journalists, conduct an independent investigation into the reason for the arrests, and respect freedom of the press and the rights of journalists.<\/p>\n
