We strongly condemn the continued detention of journalists from BAZ News Network since August 27, 2023, and the seizure of the network’s office and equipment in Hasaka, without any reason or prior notice.<\/p>\n

These arbitrary arrests and serious violations of press freedom come at a time when the Autonomous Administration of North and East Syria has announced the release of journalists, but this has not yet been done.<\/p>\n

We also condemn the silence of the international coalition, which is responsible for the region and its financier, for these violations, as it is content to stand by and watch them.<\/p>\n
